With love from our family to yours.
Welcome to Phaedra Ragdolls
Located in Gore, Southland, we are a small boutique cattery dedicated to breeding beautiful, top quality Ragdolls that are true to type, healthy and well socialised. Phaedra Ragdolls is registered with New Zealand Cat Fancy (NZCF)
Ragdolls are large cats that are very laid back and people orientated. The Ragdoll is a pointed breed, they have beautiful blue eyes and are a semi long haired breed with a silky coat, being that they do not have an undercoat, they generally require less maintenance than other long haired breeds, however they still require regular brushing.
Here at Phaedra Ragdolls we currently have the Blue, Seal, Chocolate and Lilac colouring in our breeding program in Pointed and Bi-Colour patterns. We will be adding Mitted toward the end of 2021.
Our kittens are born and raised in our home alongside our children and 2 family dogs, therefore they are well socialised before leaving for their furever home. Our cats are a part of our family. We breed for quality not quantity and are invested in the preservation of the Purebred Ragdoll. Our aim is to provide people in the South (and wider NZ) a local registered breeding program where health in mind and body is paramount. We want families to be able to witness first hand, if they so wish, where their kitten has come from, meet the parents and have a personal connection with us, so that when they join the Phaedra family, they can be confident that they have a quality Ragdoll that will be apart of their family for many years to come.
All our breeding cats are DNA tested CLEAR/Negative for :
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)
Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
FIV and FeLV
Please be aware that we reserve the right to screen potential homes. Ragdolls are indoor cats, they are not suited to outdoor life. We expect anyone wishing to take a Phaedra kitten home, to make the necessary alterations required to keep an indoor cat mentally happy and physically safe.

Yes, we require a deposit from people wishing to join the wait list for a Phaedra kitten. This deposit in non refundable. Please contact us directly for further information.
Is one or two Ragdolls best?
Ragdolls enjoy company, if you do not have another cat or dog and will be away from the house for work daily, we recommend having two Ragdolls so they do not become lonely.
